This handsome devil is Leroy, he is an 8 year old bullmastiff that we got from Manchester, New Hampshire. We acquired Leroy through what my family calls an “oops litter”. The daughter of the family who we got Leroy from accidentally left the male and female dogs alone and, like magic, Leroy was born. Leroy is 130 pounds and doesn’t know it. He is extremely goofy, loves cats and rabbits and likes most of the people he meets. All too often people try to approach him but he is not too fond of strangers (CAUTION: Beware Of Dog). In his free time, Leroy likes to play ‘chicken’ in the road and explore our neighborhood without us knowing, on some of his adventures he brings back bones that he finds along the way (we’re hoping they’re animal bones and not human). Leroy also enjoys stealing our neighbor’s dogs’ toys and playing with wild skunks and porcupines, but none of these occasions have worked out well for him. Leroy is certainly a one of a kind type of dog and we have learned to adapt to his weird and wild quirks. My family and I are very fortunate that he is as healthy as he his for this dog breed only lives 8-10 years. Fortunately, it seems as though he might out-live us.
